One of the founding groups of the Branch. Everyone has a chance to suggest a book to be read and we discuss it at a future meeting. The choices have ranged from classic novels by Eliot, Dickens and Hardy, to modern novels by Maggie O’Farrell, Kamila Shamsie, Toni Morrison, Alan Hollinghurst and Fred Vargas. We also read biographies and travel writing, e.g. Paul Theroux and Bill Bryson.
